Jose Limon: The Making of an Artist

January 17  through February 27, 2009

New York City                      Washington, D.C.                                Stanford, CA

Today, Jose Limon is hailed as "the finest male dancer of his time," but as a Mexican immigrant child in the U.S, Jose Limon  struggled to find a sense of identity while adapting to a new culture. Limon's passion for artistic expression ultimately led him to New York City to pursue a career as a visual artist, but a chance encounter at a dance recital would prove to be the great defining moment of his life.

This family-friendly musical will feature an excerpt from the
Limon Dance Company repertoire.
Musical Based on Limon's unfinished memoir.

Jose Limon, "a father of modern dance"
inspires us all to listen with our eyes and our hearts.
