PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Making Books Sing's professional development programs give educators the tools, support and confidence to integrate our productions, drama activities and playwriting into their core language arts and social studies curriculum. We offer several rewarding opportunities for teachers to become more familiar with the creative process.

Our workshops assist teachers to:

  • Deepen the impact of our production and residencies on student learning
  • Promote the integration of drama into literacy and social studies curricular areas

Workshops for all Schools attending A Band of Angels:

  • "Building Drama-based Lioteracy & Social Studies Lessons, linked to A Band of Angels"
  • "Unpacking Books into Plays, Songs and Musicals"
  • "Adapting Books into Plays, Songs and Musicals"

Additional Workshops For Residency Schools:

  • "Program Design and Partnership Building"
  • "Curriculum Alignment and Lesson Planning"
  • "Reflection and Evaluation'

Our Co-Teaching and Mentorship Program pairs an experienced teaching artist with a classroom teacher who would like one-on-one support when integrating theatre into their curriculum.

$500 Half-day workshop
$1,000 Full-day workshop
